Hopefully you stored your motorcycle correctly over the Winter. When we say correctly here’s what we mean.
  1. You changed the engine oil and filter one last time so the engine wouldn’t sit over the long winter with contaminants that could harm bearing surfaces.
  2. You add a fuel stabilizer to the gas and ran the engine for several minutes so it could circulate through the entire fuel system. This will keep the fuel from going bad during the off season.
  3. The motorcycle was completely washed, dried and metal parts lubricated with a fine coat of protect-ant like this Kawasaki Performance Wipe Down.
  4. It is a very good idea to fog the engine with engine fogger before you park the vehicle. Fogging the motor with engine fogger will coat all of the internal metal surfaces of the motor and keep them from pitting due to rust from moisture. Some people think that if they just start the engine and let it run a bit is good, not so, running the engine for 5-10 minutes without riding the bike under power for at least 30 minutes just brings moisture from the cylinder into the crankcase where it will then lay and rust on bearings.
